Selly Oak Centre for Mission Studies
The Selly Oak Centre for Mission Studies (SOCMS) enables people to discover their place in God’s mission through a variety of specialist training and study courses. We provide a stimulating environment that values diversity, dialogue and critical openness. We are also part of a dynamic, growing, global network of mission and theological training centres that is working to develop new opportunities for dialogue, learning and encounter.
Studying with SOCMS
Within SOCMS, we hope to nurture God-centered, Christ-like, Spirit-filled disciples through whom love, peace and justice might flow into all churches and societies. As part of SOCMS, you can:
- Study for an MA degree in Mission and Leadership
- Prepare for cross-cultural mission and ministry short and long term, with courses tailored to meet your specific needs
- Explore whether you have a vocation for mission
- Undertake courses in theology and mission provided by the Queen's Foundation up to PhD level
- Pursue mission research while living in residence at the College through one of the Centre's scholarships
SOCMS also sponsors a journal in mission studies - Rethinking Mission. To browse articles in the journal, click here.
