Normal Queen’s days Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
I came to Queen's in 1997 for a term to finish my doctorate - and I'm still here! Based in the Research Centre, I co-ordinate our MA Programme and teach courses on theological methodology and feminist theology. My main area of specialism is feminist practical theology, and I have published widely in this field. I am also a poet and see poetry as a form of theological reflection. I am engaged in a number of projects focused on the inter-relationship between poetry and theology, including the creation of feminist liturgy.
I am currently supervising a number of folk doing research on the faith lives of women and girls or (in one case) the transgendered community, and have recently initiated a Research Symposium at Queen’s to provide a forum for such research. As far as I know, this is the only gathering of its kind in the UK. I aim to gather some of this research into an edited collection of essays.
My half-time post at Queen's is supplemented by a wide-ranging freelance portfolio, including speaking engagements, editing and writing commitments, spiritual direction and retreat work.
My most recent publications are Seeking the Risen Christa (SPCK, 2011) and, co-edited with Stephen Burns, Presiding Like a Woman (SPCK, 2010).
