The Subject Centre for PRS, which is part of the publically funded Higher Education Academy, has given this honour in light of Dr Reddie’s contribution to the field, through his promotion of learning and teaching in PRS. Dr Reddie has played a leading role in the activities of the Subject Centre, especially in the area of Black and contextual theology and, in this capacity has convened conferences, given keynote lectures and contributed articles to the Subject Centre journal, Discourse. The bestowal of the distinction includes the recommendation that the HEA give Dr Reddie preference in conference involvements and research grants.
