Queen’s to host Dalit Theology Gathering on Friday 24th June 2011

The Queen’s Foundation, Birmingham is pleased to be hosting a one day invitational colloquium on Dalit Theology on 24th June 2011. The event has been arranged by one of the Queen’s postgraduate research students, lawyer and human rights activist Vincent Manoharan.

 The conference, supported financially by the development agency Cordaid, Netherlands and the University of Birmingham College of Arts and Law, will feature a number of world leaders in this area including:  Dr Mukti Barton, tutor in Black and Liberation theologies at Queens; Rev Chandramohan, an Indian social activitst; Dr Jacob Devadason, a British based Dalit theologian; Dr Richard Devadoss, a Dalit rights educationalist; Rev David Haslam, founder of the Dalit Solidarity Network, UK; Dr. Mohan Larbeer, Dalit theologian and secretary of the Board of Theological Education of the Senate of Serampore, India; and Mr. Savio Mahimaidass, Convenor of the Alliance for Community Cohesion, UK.
