Supervision of Practice
Do you want Professional and Ministerial development that builds on your experience and helps you develop in ministry? Do you want to deepen and enhance your ability to supervise the ministries and work of others?
If so, what training is available?
At Queen's, we offer training in Supervision that is designed for those in positions of ministerial oversight and supervisory responsibility. These ‘stand alone’ courses are offered on the Queen's Campus in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
For further information on dates and times of training, download the programme information sheet, or contact Karen Vincent.
What does the course involve?
The course sets supervision within a theological framework, explores different models of supervision and helps develop best reflective practice. It evaluates tools for theological reflection such as verbatim, critical incident reporting and journaling, whilst exploring ways of understanding and working with difference, including gender, culture, ecclesial traditions, personality typing and team roles
What will I have to "produce"?
Assessment will be through a Learning Journal [3,000 words] and a Verbatim/Case Study and Theological reflection [1,000 words]. The course will not carry academic credit, but it will be taught at a post-graduate level. If you want to gain an academic award you are encouraged to explore the opportunities for the MA/PG Diploma, in which learning in supervision is a central aspect.
