Occasional Study

You don’t have to be a full-time student to study at Queen’s.

Many people want to study theology “occasionally” – i.e. they might just take an evening class or two to develop their theological knowledge, deepen their understanding of the Bible, or maybe to learn some New Testament Greek. Some occasional students like to do modules for credit – that means they do the assessed work at the end, and build up towards an award, whilst others prefer just to “audit” them, without having to write any essays!

Furthermore, you don’t have to be the ‘right’ kind of Christian to study at Queen’s; you do need to be someone who is open to learn from others who perhaps believe and live their faith differently.  We do not learn about Christian faith and practice in a theoretical way, but as those whose ‘faith seeks understanding’, and as those who want to live more faithfully as disciples of Jesus.

Queen’s works in partnership with the Diocese of Birmingham and the Methodist Church to deliver the “Learning for Discipleship” course, which is of particular interest to occasional students. Contact us to find out more details, or download the brochure.
