Mission statement

The primary role of the library service is to provide access to, and support for, resources for Foundation members, both resident and dispersed, in support of current and planned teaching, learning and research.

We aim to complement, rather than duplicate, the services in support of research available to Foundation members via the University of Birmingham.

We aim to provide a more limited service to the wider research community, recognising the research value of the library’s historic collections (in particular in Methodism, Anglicanism and the Reformed tradition).

We also aim to provide a limited service to the wider church community in the West Midlands region. In the future, we hope to extend our services to a broader range of users in the region in the context of emerging partnerships.
