Queen’s will be launching its Global Leadership & Development (Gold) Programmes in 2015-16.
These will equip ministers and lay leaders for the challenging roles they face in ministry by providing a framework for continuing reflection on ministerial practice.
The emphasis of these short courses will be continuing development in Ministry and Mission for Partner Churches around the world and for Christians in Britain.
A key component of the Programme is mutuality, where Christian leaders from diverse parts of the world reflect together and learn from one another. The first phase will involve teams from Britain travelling to deliver an intensive programme of seminars in a regional centre. During this trip, they will also have the chance to engage in a local exposure programme hosted by partner churches. Each project will be developed in collaboration with individual partners to meet specific needs. We expect each Gold Programme to last for a number of years and develop its own sustainable leadership.
Gold Programmes involve us working with regional Theological Institutes in order to develop a network that will facilitate critical dialogue between those who teach and write theology in different contexts. Global Colloquia of faculty and research students will form part of the regional programmes for reflection and discussion. We would also aspire to share theological insights through the publication of proceedings. In this we will continue to collaborate with regional and global partners.
