Why study at Queens
I’m an international student
International students are an important part of community life at Queen’s, and particularly within our M.A. and research programmes. We presently have students from about 20 different nations living and studying with us, and our teaching, worship and life together all reflect this international diversity. A number of our international students are participants in the SALT scholarship scheme, a fund related to our SOCMS centre, but we welcome those who are independently funded for study in the UK.
Applications
We welcome enquiries from potential international students, but please note the following:
- If you are applying to Queen’s from outside the EU, you can only apply for postgraduate studies. We are not able to accept applications for undergraduate level study from students based outside the EU.
- If you are currently resident in the UK, and would have leave to remain for the duration of your period of study, you may apply for undergraduate level study. We are not able, though, to assist with any visa renewal processing.
English language entry requirements
All applicants to the college whose main language is not English must either obtain a satisfactory score in a recognised test of English language competence or produce other proof of English language proficiency as a condition of entry.
Students will also need to meet the appropriate admissions criteria for their particular programme. You should consult the appropriate programme page for details on these criteria.
What is a Certificate of Acceptance of Study (CAS)?
This is a unique number that is generated from UK Borders Agency by the College once your application has been successful. This number is unique to you and your application and will be forwarded to you by email or by letter once you have been granted unconditional entry into the College. You should not attempt to apply for a visa until you have received this number.
