Are you passionate about widening participation in theological education?
Do you have a few hours per month (on average) to support one of our students?
The Queen’s Foundation is committed to widening participation in theological education. Over the last few years, the make up of our student body has become more diverse than ever, drawing students from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences. We think this growing diversity is essential, but it also means that many of our students need various types of support to get the most out of their studies. This is where you come in!
We are looking to gather a group of volunteer student supporters to work with staff in guiding some of our students in their journey through their training at Queen’s.
We’re looking for those willing to be paired with a student/ students to offer all/ any of the following:
- Encouragement and empathy via messages/ phone calls (for this, we ask that all volunteers have undergone some form of formal, theological training, at any level)
- Read through written work for clarity of English (you will not be expected to engage with or offer advice on assignment content)
- Be part of a team praying for Queen’s students and potentially responding to particular needs as they arise.
At this stage, we are simply looking for expressions of interest – it does not commit you to anything. Those interested will be invited to complete a form listing their location/ availability/ interests and skills. Some training will be offered.
