The Queen’s Foundation is delighted to announce the launch of a new programme designed to support dioceses in equipping Anglican clergy ordained overseas as they seek to begin ministry within the Church of England.
With sessions starting in October 2026, the programme consists of four Saturday sessions at Queen’s, delivered on a rolling basis throughout the year. It is open to clergy at any stage of ordained ministry, including deacons, priests, archdeacons, and bishops entering ministry in the Church of England for the first time.
The programme covers key areas of ministry within the Church of England, including:
- The ‘cure of souls’ and other particularities of the Church of England, where they differ from ministry experience elsewhere in the Anglican Communion
- Safeguarding responsibilities and safe practice
- The Church in the community and public expectations, including remembrance services and Christmas
- Chairing Annual Parochial Church Meetings (APCMs)
- Managing volunteers
The initial dates are:
- 3 October 2026
- 14 November 2026
- 30 January 2027
- 8 May 2027
While the main intake is expected to begin in October, clergy who have completed the candidate panel process may join the programme at any point during the year.
Dioceses and prospective participants are encouraged to get in touch as early conversations are welcomed to discuss participation, costs and delivery arrangements.
