We are delighted to announce Dr William Ackah as this year’s speaker for the Robert Beckford Lecture.
Dr Ackah is an internationally respected scholar as a leading voice in African diaspora studies and Black community development. His work provides insight into the lived realities, advocacy efforts, and spiritual practices of Black communities globally, especially throughout the UK, Africa, and the Caribbean.
His lecture title is: The Blacker than Saka Effect: Theological Necessities in the Face of Black Diasporic Realities in Britain, and will take place on Thursday 22nd October 2026 at the Queen’s Foundation at 7.30pm.
This will be an in-person event, and booking details will be released on 1st September.

About the Robert Beckford Lecture
The Robert Beckford Lecture is an annual public lecture series launched at the Queen’s Foundation in 2025 to honour Professor Robert Beckford, one of the most influential Black British theologians. As a scholar-activist, Professor Beckford is prophetic in decolonial thought and action. This annual lecture is therefore a platform for bold, justice‑oriented theological reflections that will feature scholars addressing issues of intersectionality, such as race, gender, culture, and spirituality.
