Undergraduate Taster Course: Scripture, Prayer and Theology

Who is it for?
The taster module “Scripture, Prayer and Theology” allows you to explore theology study at undergraduate level and try out a single module before committing fully to one of our programmes in Theology, Ministry & Mission, should you wish to. This programme is ideal for people engaged in lay or ordained ministry as well as those in various other sectors (eg: charity, healthcare, social, teaching). The course aims to provide a flexible but focused introduction to theological studies. The flexibility offered by online learning allows you to engage with the course and your tutors from virtually anywhere in the world whilst conveniently fitting the training around your professional and personal commitments.
Course Structure
Starting in April, this taster module is a 10-credit unit studied online, part-time over 4 weeks (with optional assessments taking place in week 5). In addition to a range of online resources and tutor support, the module includes three online gathered seminars to consolidate and support your learning. These seminars run on weekday evenings.
The course is assessed by an online conversation (20 minutes) in which you will demonstrate your learning from the module.
Upon successful completion of this module, learners who wish to continue can progress our undergraduate courses beginning in September.

Entry requirements: There are no entry requirements for the Undergraduate Taster Module “Scripture, Prayer and Theology”.
After completing this Taster Module, you may wish to progress on to the Cert HE in Theology Ministry and Mission (subject to meeting the entry requirements for that programme). It may be possible to use the assessment from the Undergraduate Taster Module “Scripture, Prayer and Theology” to meet the Cert HE entry requirements.
Programme Fee: £250 (This module is currently sponsored by a bursary, giving all applicants a 50% discount on the original fee of £500.)

MA Taster Course: The Bible and Christian Faith

- Offers the option to progress onto the MA in Theology, Ministry & Mission
Who is it for?
The taster module “The Bible and Christian Faith” allows you to explore theology study at postgraduate level and try out a single module before committing fully to the MA in Theology, Ministry & Mission, should you wish to. This programme is ideal for people engaged in lay or ordained ministry as well as those in various other sectors (eg: charity, healthcare, social, teaching). The course aims to provide a flexible but focused path to enhance and deepen theological proficiency and expertise. The flexibility offered by online learning allows you to engage with the course and your tutors from virtually anywhere in the world whilst conveniently fitting the training around your professional and personal commitments.
Course Structure
Starting in March, this taster module is a 20-credit unit studied online, part-time over five months. In addition to a range of online resources and tutor support, the module includes four online gathered seminars to consolidate and support your learning. These seminars would run on weekday evenings.
The course is assessed by a Portfolio (7,000 words) that enables you to demonstrate your learning from the module.
Upon successful completion of this module, learners who wish to continue can progress to the MA in Theology, Ministry & Mission starting in September.

Entry requirements: Normally a theology degree, or a degree in any subject and at least a CertHE in theology. We also welcome applications from those with a very good first degree or experience at working at postgraduate level (in any subject), and who also have demonstrable experience in church or theological leadership.
Programme Fee: £390 (This module is currently sponsored by The Marsh Bursary, giving all applicants a 50% discount on the original fee of £780.)
