Academic information

Queen’s offers the opportunity to study via two discrete training tracks: ‘college-style’ and ‘course-style’. Within each track there are a number of possible pathways. The pathway you take will depend on factors which include:

• your previous training or qualification
• your personal circumstances and availability.

Students without prior theological studies, who meet the admissions requirements, are likely to be admitted onto the Certificate in Higher Education in Theology, Ministry and Mission in the Common Awards suite validated by Durham University during their initial ministerial training. Successful completion of this programme enables progression to the Diploma in Theology, Ministry and Mission.

At the end of their initial ministerial training, on successful completion of their studies, students may have the option to receive this award or, with agreement from the Ministerial Candidates and Probationers Oversight Committee, to continue to work towards a BA(Hons) in Theology, Ministry and Mission in the Common Awards suite validated by Durham University. Students with prior theological studies, who meet the admissions requirements, may have the opportunity to work at postgraduate or research level during initial ministerial training.
