PG Diploma, MA
The Black Theology pathway for the MA in Theology and Transformative Practice is validated by Birmingham Newman University. Most students will take the taster module and then progress with three modules to complete a postgraduate Diploma. A dissertation of 15,000 words completes the MA.
The modules typically are:
Transforming communities
Research Methods for contextual transformative practice
Worship, preaching and pastoral care in a diverse church
Transformative Womanist Theology
The modules are taught on Saturdays, online, over a 2-year period, and are chosen to focus on ministry and social concerns employing Black theological themes and concepts for Church and community. They are designed to develop critical thinking skills for transformative practice informed by current scholarship and research in Black and Womanist Theology.
